I had a great time teaching the physical therapy students today about the deadlift exercise.

Some questions I asked them that I hope you can all answer from reading this blog:

What is a squat? and What is a deadlift?

What patients/people is the deadlift appropriate for? and who is it not appropriate for?

How can you make the deadlift easier? and How can you make it harder?

Overall, the deadlift (as well as the squat) is one of the more fundamental movements that we need to have.  It’s generally one of the first movements I teach many of my patients, and it also serves as my “graduation test” for them to go back and finish rehab and return to normal living.

My best answers for the above questions to come in my next post.
